Beautiful Tribute to Carol Stack

When I think of a funeral or memorial service I tend to think of a sad or depressing day. Today's service for Carol was not like that. It doesn't mean there weren't tears there was but there was also laughter, stories, more laughter and lots of hugging.

Debbie, Dineen, Doreen, Dennis and their significant others but on a beautiful party honoring their mother. The buffet table appeared to be endless; there was never an empty dish on the table. The dessert table was incredible. I may have gained a few pounds just walking by it. Ok, ok, I may have had 1 or 2 cookies. As soon as I saw the champagne being poured I had to laugh. I always think of the Stacks when I see champagne.

I feel very honored and proud to be part of the Nerney family. A friend at work offered to call me today and say I needed to come into work to escape the party. I looked at her in disbelief and replied, no I love being with my family. Sad to think so many don't have this connection.

Carol enriched my life. I'll miss her.

My kids are still talking about the reunion...

Hello All!

I wanted to let you know that my son Hunter had such a great time at the reunion yesterday that he said to me this morning "I wish it was yesterday again." I hope we can do it again soon, as I would love for my kids to have fond memories of family gatherings in Ben Lomond as I do.

lots of love,

Nerney Blog/2008 Family Reunion

Hi All!

Cousin Jim Nerney has created this site for all of us to keep in touch, update on new additions to the family and share memories. It would be great if everyone became involved with the family in some shape or form.

One of the things that Nana instilled in me was the importance of family. If I can I can do the same with my boys I feel I have honored Nana. Ok, this is still a work in-progress. Andrew flaked on the family reunion and Mason didn't try too hard to rearrange his work schedule.

The family reunion was a lot of fun. I was delighted to see Janie and George, their daughter and son and grandkids. It had been too many years. If there had been a prize for traveling the furthest to the reunion it would have gone to Paul Roger's daughter, Beth. Beth, her hubby and baby made the trip from St Louis. Also Elizabeth (Larry & Lynette's daughter) drove from Bakersfield with 4 kids ages 2-12 and maintained her sanity. To my brother, Terry, thank you for being crazy enough to host the reunion. I know you gave up vacation time to get ready. For those that took photos at the reunion we'd love to see them posted on this site.

Hope to see everyone soon. Love, Norah

FYI For those out of touch, Paul Rogers is Susan Schuman's son. Norah and Terry are Nancy's children. For those really out of touch, Nancy is the youngest of the 12 Nerney children.
